I'm going
to try to update this at least once a month. Be sure to
keep up with my entries on MySpace, however. It's the best
way to be kept up to date with what's going on in my world.
Love &
Bullets #1 is coming
along nicely. Keith sent me the first eleven pages and I've
passed them on to Ed, who's going to get to work on coloring
them while Keith gets to work on the final nine pages and
the cover. I've finished all the scripts, and it will be
a six-issue limited series.
I've recently
posted an open call for artists on Craigslist, MySpace,
and ComicSpace and gotten several responses. I'm proud to
report that Samurai Monkey has finally landed an
artist, as has Myth Hunter. More on both of those
as they develop.
Other than
that, my lettering work is coming along nicely. I recently
did a stint for four pages of Eric Palicki's webcomic, The
Undertaker's Daughter and I'm working as the letterer
for Nick Spencer's Mike Diamond comic, which he
plans to submit to publishers. Check out the Comics section
for more on those.
National Novel
Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is upon us once again, and
once again I'm going to join in the fun. The rules say that
you have to start an entirely new novel, and while I hoped
to have City of Dead finished before this year's
NaNoWriMo, it didn't work out that way. So City of Dead
has been put to the side once again so I can get to
work on a new novel for NaNoWriMo.
Plus, I've
been producing articles like crazy for Associated Content.
Check out the Articles section for more, including reviews
of 3:10 To Yuma and the season premiere of Heroes,
as well as some film and comic book essays.

Good news
and bad news to update with this time. I feel it's always
best to start with the bad news first. I recently relocated
to Japan for a teaching position, but I had to return to
Chicago five days later. I'll get to the story behind that
in a moment. In addition, Joshua Sanchez, the artist and
letterer for Samurai Monkey, has backed out of
the project, so it's been shelved until I can assemble a
new creative team.
Now for the
good news. As you can see, there's a new button on the sidebar,
for articles. I've recently signed up with Associated Content
and I've posted and received payment for my first article,
which chronicles my experience with the Nova Group in Japan.
More good news is that Russian Roulette, a short
film I've been developing for what seems like forever, is
now completed. Music still needs to be added to it before
the DVD will be available for purchase, but you can watch
it for free on YouTube for now. Go to the films page for
more information.
I've also
recruited an artist and colorist for Love & Bullets
and the project is proceeding at a very healthy pace.
Expect more information on a release within the coming months.
In addition, I've gotten back into the grove of my second
novel, City of Dead, and the manuscript will hopefully
be completed very shortly.
